Innovations in Networking - Workshop
|
![]() |
Join us for this interactive webinar exploring networking in the 21st century. We begin by visiting the fundamental questions: What is a network? What is networking? Isn’t networking just for people who are job hunting? And how do you find time? Building on ideas from Keith Ferrazzi’s insightful book Never Eat Alone we look at some innovative ideas that simplify the process of networking while building powerful connections with the people you meet. |
| In segment two we explore online and social-networking tools to add a self-service component to your networking. With an up-to-date profile, some useful settings and a bit of creativity, services such as LinkedIn, Plaxo, and Xing can supercharge your networking activities. |

In the final segment of the seminar we engage one another in several lively rounds of Speed Networking: 5 minute-face-to face interactions to create new links in your network. Come prepared with business cards and a 30-second “elevator speech” that describes who you are as a professional and your aspirations for your next career move. |
| Heather Hollick has a Master’s Degree in Applied Mathematics from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley. She has refined and perfected her networking skills in the face of two international relocations in the last five years, moving first from San Francisco, California to London, England; then to Princeton, New Jersey; and now to Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In each place she started with limited contacts but dramatically expanded her personal and professional network through the innovative ideas and tools that she covers in this seminar. |
